Celebration/Reflections Presentations/Certificates - Wednesday, August
25, 2008 at 5:00pm at The Volunteer Center. |
Parents of participants are strongly encouraged to attend a brief orientation on the day of your student's Pre-service Training at The Volunteer Center. "Reflection" will be explained at that time and emphasized as an integral part of the Service Learning Program. Parents will be asked to sign an agreement to provide transportation to these sessions, as well as to the weekly volunteering. Please bring 2 emergency contact telephone numbers to this meeting.
Because most agencies will only accept youth volunteers 13 and older, it is our
goal to find opportunities with agencies who will work with younger volunteers.
We have tried our hardest to provide a range of opportunities, but if you know
of more please share with us. Another good way for younger children to volunteer is to do so either with a parent, as part of a group with an adult leader, such as scouts, or through a Kids Care Club.
