Text Box:   the role of a representativecurrent executive youth boardhow to joinText Box: Founded in September 1999, VCYC was designed to identify, empower, and mobilize youth from South Bay high schools by providing them with information and training to effectively promote positive social change in the community through meaningful volunteerism and active citizenship. VCYC is a coalition of South Bay public and private high schools where representatives are trained to promote youth volunteerism at their schools through understanding community needs. Coalition members create and implement region-wide service projects for our Seasons of Service Days. Text Box: The role of the representatives is to ensure greater access to volunteer opportunities for everyone on campus, and to advocate for youth volunteerism by speaking to groups, etc. As a representative, you help to decide on regional service projects for Seasons of Service Days and help implement them.
