how to registerText Box: The Volunteer Center’s Service Leaning Program titled VIVA (Volunteer.Involvement.Values.Action) is the perfect way to get youth involved and in touch with the needs of the community. Participants attend Pre-Service Trainings where they learn how to identify a need in their community, formulate a plan to address the need, act on their plan, and reflect on the success of their project. Throughout the summer, participants work with non-profits first hand to gain a better understanding of their community’s needs and how they can make changes to address those needs. The program culminates with a Celebration when participants share their unique reflection projects with other participants, parents, non-profits, and the community.

Volunteer Involvement Values ActionText Box: 1. Complete an online application by May 7, 2010. 2. Make a payment online. 3. Attend your Pre-Service Trainings 4. Volunteer with an agency 5. Complete a journal and final project. 6. Submit your hours, journal and final project by August 11, 2010. 7. Celebrate your accomplishments at our Reflection Celebration on August 18th at 5pm.
